In designing the New York City headquarters for creative agency Project
Worldwide, STUDIOS Architecture sought industrial, yet refined materials
to realize their pared-back, industrial chic design scheme. Banker
Wire’s S-51 architectural woven wire mesh pattern is one such material
used to achieve this aesthetic, providing an elegant mesh profile for
both the kitchen bar and wall divider screen applications in the
amenities area of the new office space. Upon entering the seventh floor

Banker Wire’s architectural woven mesh is a key design element in the
Willow Park Showhome, built by Zen Custom Homes and designed by
AstonMorrone Designs. Utilized in two separate applications within the
home—as a wall divider in the office, and as a statement kitchen island
feature—the designer relied on Banker Wire’s M22-83 wire mesh pattern to
create visual separations that allow the light to pass through, without
impeding the flow of the open-planned space. Acting as a statement
kitchen counter partition, M22-83’s stainless steel and brass finish

A decorative antique plated finish can truly bring out the texture of a
woven wire mesh in ways that other coatings cannot. Antique finishes
bring out the depth and texture of the weave while solid colors bring
out the transparency characteristics with a splace of color. The thin
layer of metal does not mask the detail of the wire mesh but rather
highlights it. The antique plated finish process introduces a dark oxide
layer over top of the bright plated alloy. Then, visual depth is
created by physically relieving the high points of the wire mesh
allowing the bright plated alloy to show through. A thin layer of
lacquer is applied after plating to help preserve the finish from
further tarnishing.
